#NNFoodFest – A Recap

On 5th October 2013, Nuffnang organised their biggest event to date – the Nuffnang Food Fest, or #NNFoodFest, held at Sunway Pyramid.

The event introduced bloggers and members of the public to a whole new dining experience, where social media currency was used to "pay" for meals. This meant that attendees only needed to bring their phones and an empty stomach along to the event, because all they had to do post updates on their Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts with the correct hashtags in order to sample food from 36 vendors present that day.

There were registration counters at the entrances, where guests received freebies after registering.

Food hunts began after registration. There were signboards at each booth which showed the relevant hashtags and respective vendors' social media platform usernames to be used in attendees' updates, but #NNFoodFest simplified it even further with an iPhone app where you could just scan vendors' QR codes, and it would automatically generate a tweet for you to share!

Apart from the food, Nuffnang also had programs lined up at the stage area like a Food and Photography workshop with Canon, the Ultimate Maggi Bloggers Cook-Off and a Food Blogging 101 Workshop with Nuffnang.

Due to the high volume of people tweeting about the event, #NNFoodFest trended on Twitter in Malaysia and worldwide as well!

A big thank you goes out to the partners and vendors for the Nuffnang FoodFest, because this event wouldn't have been successful without their participation.
